Dr. Xiaohui Liu
Research Associate
Research Associate
Research Interests:
Xiaohui is an ocean modeler and physical oceanographer. His research is on applying numerical ocean models to investigate the dynamics behind complex phenomena in the ocean, including circulations and multi-scale interactions. He is particularly interested in analyzing conservations of dynamic variables based on primitive equations of the models. As part of the Cormorant Oceanography Project, he is responsible for developing high-resolution regional models and assimilating the observational data to get an accurate ocean estimate in the study area.
Expertise:
reginal ocean modeling, dynamic analysis, adjoint method of ocean models.
Education:
PhD – Fluid Mechanics, Zhejiang University, China, 2016
MS – Physical oceanography, Second Institute of Oceanography, China, 2007
BSc – Harbor, Waterway and Coastal Engineering, Hohai University, China, 2004
